Our appraisal personnel have conducted appraisals for a variety of federal programs and for properties developed within the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. In addition, VSI Appraisal Group staff has experience conducting appraisals for office, retail and industrial properties. They also have experience appraising mixed-use and special purpose properties, such as student housing, schools and hotels.
Dave Ross is President of VSI Appraisal Group with over 20 years of experience in real estate consulting, development and valuation. He has worked for a national appraisal company, a national syndicator for Tax Credit housing, a commercial real estate developer and a market research consulting firm. Mr. Ross is licensed in multiple states as a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. This broad range of experience has allowed Mr. Ross to become familiar with most types of real estate and gain local knowledge of markets throughout the United States. Extensive knowledge of LIHTC markets has resulted in invitations to speak at industry conferences. Mr. Ross has experience conducting commercial real estate appraisals for multifamily (market-rate and restricted rent), office, retail, industrial and mixed-use properties. Mr. Ross has an MBA from Capital University and a BA from Wright State University and is a Fellow with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS). Mr. Ross also holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. |

Brian Walsh is the Vice President of VSI Appraisal Group with over 18 years of experience in real estate development and valuation. Mr. Walsh is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. He has worked for an affordable housing developer, a national commercial real estate brokerage and a national real estate valuation firm. Over this time, Mr. Walsh has conducted market feasibility studies and appraisals on multifamily, retail and office developments. Mr. Walsh earned a bachelor's degree in marketing at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. Mr. Walsh holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. |
Daylea Smith is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser with VSI Appraisal Group and has been active in real estate valuation since 2011. Mrs. Smith has gained valuable real estate experience working within the appraisal division for a national lender as well as for a national real estate valuation firm. This experience has allowed her to gain a firm understanding of the lending and valuation sides of appraisal operations. Mrs. Smith earned a BS in Business Administration, with a focus in Marketing, from The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business. Mrs. Smith has experience conducting commercial appraisals for multifamily (market-rate and restricted rent), office, retail, industrial and mixed-use properties. She also has experience conducting appraisal reviews for various commercial and residential property types. |
Brendan Kelly is an Appraiser Assistant with 15 years of experience in multifamily valuation, market research, asset management, and property management. He has extensive experience performing market feasibility studies, appraisals, and rent comparability studies for a variety of clients in the affordable housing industry, including lenders, developers, syndicators, and state agencies. Mr. Kelly has completed assignments for Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), market rate, Section 8, and USDA Rural Development properties in more than 40 states nationwide. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Finance from Pennsylvania State University. |
Mr. Adams is an Appraiser Assistant with VSI Appraisal Group and has a diverse background of employment in Real Estate Analysis, Sports and Recreation and Higher Education Administration. This includes over four years of real estate market research and property valuation in over 100 markets in 35 states. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Master of Business Administration from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. |
Ted Ammon is a Registered Appraisal Assistant with VSI Appraisal Group, having previously worked as a research analyst and editor for Vogt Strategic Insights. Since joining VSI in 2017, Mr. Ammon has conducted market analyses in over 100 different submarkets across twenty different states. He has also edited all or portions of more than 200 market feasibility and rent comparability studies. Since joining the Appraisal Group in 2018, he has conducted numerous expense analyses and land valuations as well as lent assistance for more than 200 appraisals. Ted has experience with valuation of vacant land, commercial space and both market-rate and affordable multifamily product. He received his bachelor’s degree cum laude from The Ohio State University in 2015 |
